Florida May Permit Same-Sex Marriages in January

Same-sex marriages could begin in Florida in early January after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit on Wednesday declined to extend a stay issued by a federal judge who struck down the state's ban on gay weddings.

Jeb Bush is actively exploring a run for the U.S. presidency in 2016, making the former Florida governor with the famous political last name one of the first major Republicans to formally move toward a possible candidacy.
 
Bush, 61, said on Tuesday he will establish a political action committee in January, a step that an aide said will allow him to engage politically with supporters and potential donors and determine whether sufficient support exists for a run.

The government of Sierra Leone banned public Christmas and New Year's celebrations because they may exacerbate efforts to eradicate the Ebola virus.
President Ernest Bai Koroma said that despite immense help from the international community, the number of people infected with the virus continues to rise.
Ebola infections in Sierra Leone recently surpassed those of Liberia and Guinea.

DRC: Family burned alive and children beheaded in brutal attack

   
37 people were killed in another brutal attack in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on Saturday, a regional director of Tearfund told Christian Today.
Militants arrived in the village of Oicha in Beni during the night, slaughtering over three dozen civilians – including women and children – with machetes.

Islamists Ambush Bus in Kenya ,Execute 28 CHRISTIANS (Graphic Photos)

   
Islamic Shebab extremists ambushed a bus in Kenya before executing 28 non-Muslims at point-blank range in a revenge attack for police raids on mosques in the troubled city of Mombasa.

The heavily-armed gunmen ambushed the bus early yesterday as it headed for Nairobi from Mandera, a town that lies on the border with Somalia.

According to AFP, the extremists reportedly separated the Muslims from the 28 victims by forcing them to read versus from the Koran. Those that failed were shot in the head at point-blank range.

Dr. Myles Munroe, the leader of Bahamas Faith Ministries, was killed Sunday when the plane he was in hit a construction crane, exploded and crashed in the Bahamas.

Munroe's wife, Ruth, was also among the 9 victims of the crash in Grand Bahama, according to the Bahamas Tribune.

In Northern Ireland, an equality watchdog is launching legal proceedings against a Christian bakery who refused to make a cake for an equality campaign earlier this year.
Daniel McArthur, the general manager for Ashes Bakery, says he's surprised the Equality Commission is pursuing legal options, given the size of his family-owned bakery.

Funeral Services held for Atlanta Pastor who took his own life

                                             
Bishop David Huskins, a Georgia senior pastor, was found dead in his home from alleged self inflicted gunshot wounds, according to reports unconfirmed by the police last Monday.

Although the Polk County Police announced that the founder of the Cedar Lake Christian Center, Cedartown, Atlanta, was pronounced dead on the scene, they wouldn’t confirm the cause of his death but said there was no foul play involved.

Man Sentenced to 37 Years in Christian Mingle Rape Case



 A Pennsylvania nun who was physically and $exually assaulted last December forgave her attacker and prayed for him ahead of his sentencing on Wednesday.

The 86-year-old victim did not appear in the Beaver County court, but her written statement was read by another sister.

The Sisters of St Joseph of Baden nun was walking through the parking lot of St. Titus Church in Aliquippa on December 13 at 11:30am, trying to put newspapers in a recycling bin.

Andrew Bullock, 19, approached her, and asked if she needed help. He then exposed himself, grabbed her by the throat, and choked her on the ground. Bullock rap€d her and punched her in the face, breaking her jaw.

Police matched his shoes with footprints found in the snow at the scene, and he admitted to the crimes.

Despite being a victim of a horrific crime, the elderly nun's statement was one of compassion and hope for the young man.

Pakistani Christians Burned Alive Were Attacked by 1,200 People: Kin

LAMABAD, Pakistan — A mob accused of burning alive a Christian couple in an industrial kiln in Pakistan allegedly wrapped a pregnant mother in cotton so she would catch fire more easily, according to family members who witnessed the attack.
Sajjad Maseeh, 27, and his wife Shama Bibi, 24, were set upon by at least 1,200 people after rumors circulated that they had burned verses from the Quran, family spokesman Javed Maseeh told NBC News via telephone late Thursday. Their legs were also broken so they couldn't run away.

    The terrorists released a video on Saturday, September 13, 2014 showing 44-year-old Haines kneeling next to his would-be murderer.
    Before his apparent beheading, Haines gives a speech blaming British Prime Minister, David Cameron for his death.

    Saudi anti-Christian sweep prompts calls for US involvement


    Dozens of Christians arrested at a prayer meeting in Saudi Arabia need America's help, according to a key lawmaker who is pressing the State Department on their behalf.
    Some 28 people were rounded up Friday by hard-line Islamists from the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in the home of an Indian national in the eastern Saudi city of Khafji, and their current situation is unknown, according to human rights advocates.

    Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Says "No Man Of God Can Ever Offend God"


    Pastor Christian Oyakhilome has finally addressed the allegations leveled against him after more than a week of maintaining silence on the divorce suit filed against him by his wife,
    Speaking on Sunday evening during the monthly global communion service of the church, he said the allegations were “crazy” and “stupid”. Oyakhilome acknowledged that divorce is unbiblical but suggested he could consider the option should his wife insist on it. He also criticized the media for prying into his private life and urged members of his church to pray for his estranged wife.

    Coalition of Christian Leaders Sends Letter to Pentagon In Support of Gideon Bibles in Navy Lodges


    A coalition of Christian leaders sent a letter this week to the Pentagon in support of allowing Gideon Bibles to remain in Navy lodges despite a complaint from a prominent atheist organization.
    As previously reported, in March of this year, the Freedom from Religion Foundation (FFRF) sent a letter to the Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM) advising that two unidentified service members contacted them to report that “every Navy lodging room they have stayed in during decades of service contained a Bible” but rarely other religious or non-religious books. The organization asserted that such practice is unconstitutional and shows favoritism toward Christianity.
